Dr Zaid Mohamed graduated with his MBChB (UCT) in 1983. He spent 5 years in General Practice and built a community-based hospital called 123 Bed Private Hospital, where he served as Chairman of the Board. He qualified as a Specialist Physician and Cardiologist in 2001 at the University of Cape Town. He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in 2001 at UCT and Groote Schuur Hospital and was awarded the Nellen fellowship to train further in London at the prestigious Hammersmith and subsequently appointed to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital.

Dr Mohamed returned to South Africa in 2003 where he entered Private Practice at Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Mediclinic Constantiaberg & Mediclinic Milnerton as an Interventional Cardiologist with a strong research component.

He was invited to appear on radio and TV talk shows. He delivers Continuing Medical Education lectures both locally and internationally to the medical public and the lay public. He was also invited to participate at various levels as National Coordinator, Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in over 30 International Clinical Trials published in several leading International Cardiology and Medical Journals.
